Question: If it was a Fardh rukn that was omitted, would it still affect the salah of the Muqtadi? For example, Qawma; Muqtadi went into Sajda instead of Qauma with Imam. بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer: Qawma (standing posture after rukoo) is wajib, not fard. However, if the muqtadi deliberately omits the Qawma and does not perform it at all, he would have to repeat his prayer. (Hashiya At-Tahtawi: p. 250 [Qadeemi Kutub Khana])

If the muqtadi omits a fard without performing it at all, the prayer would be invalid. For example, he leaves out qiyam (standing), a fard, and prays sitting without a valid excuse. (Raddul Muhtar: v. 2 p. 128 [Maktaba Imdadia])
