Question:
Is it ok to recite Quran in bed on a cell phone before going to sleep without wudu?
If I recite Surah As-Sajdah before going to sleep without wudu, is it a sin to delay doing sajdah until the next morning before Fajr?

Answer:
Yes, it is permissible. However, it is best to recite in such a manner that is closest to respect and reverence, e.g., in the state of wudu, sitting and facing the Qibla, etc. If you were to recite from the phone, you must have wudu to touch the text of the ayats that appear on the screen. (Fatawa Hindiya: v. 5, p. 391 [DKI]; Hashiya At-Tahtawi: p. 143 [Qadeemi Kutub Khana])
It is not sinful to delay. However, it is best to perform as soon as possible because generally, sajdas of tilawat are forgotten when they are delayed. (Raddul Muhtar: v. 2, p. 583 [Maktaba Imdadia]; Bahishti Zewar: p. 177 [DARUL-ISHAAT])
