Saving Marriage

Question:

Salaam, is there a particular day that can be recited to stop two people from getting a divorce ? Any dua that can break the egos and save their marriage?

Answer:

In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most Merciful, 

Wa alaikum Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, 

The best and most effective du'as are those made with humility and sincerity to Allah. It doesn't have to be in Arabic, supplicate to Allah in your own language, in your own words, with utmost devotion and he will listen and respond. 

ادعوا ربكم تضرعاً و خفيه

"And call upon him with humility and in secrecy"

There are certain times in which dua is more readily accepted, for example in Tahajjud, right after Fard prayers, on the day of Jumua etc. So take advantage of these times. 

Salatul Haja (prayer of need) is also the Sunnah of Rasūl-Allāh s.a.w.w, pray 2 rakat and then make dua at the end of it after Salam.

Having said that, Qur'an teaches us the best method of solving marital problems is by having a responsible individual from both sides get involved and try to come to an understanding.
