The day a child is born, it will be counted among the seven days when determining the day of aqiqah. Generally in the U.S., 3 AM is after sunset and before Fajr time. On the basis thereof, if a child was born in the night time (i.e. any time after sunset and before dawn), then you will count it as the following day. For example, if the child was born Wednesday, 3 AM, you will consider the baby being born on a Wednesday, and the aqiqah will be performed on the seventh day which is the following Tuesday before Maghrib.
